  • PT
  • Group Classes with a Max of 19 class members and 1 coach – (Not using any fitness machines or shared equipment)

The following services are NOT available:

  • 24/7 access
  • Unsupervised training
  • Training without the presence of an SMA coach / staff member.

NOTE: Please continue reading this entire page as there is some capacity for NON Group Fitness members to attend classes under their regular membership. Its worth the read!

Class Type Descriptions:

Bootcamp

Bootcamp is a group fitness class that is the best of both worlds. This class is for people looking to build definition, fitness and functional strength.

The 45 minute circuit will put your strength, core stability and cardiovascular endurance to test with a combination of strength exercises with high intensity cardio to get a full body workout. The class is then finished with a big core and glute burner.

Strength

Strength is the group fitness class for people looking to build Strength and Muscle.

The class uses heavier weights, and reps rather than time. If you are looking to build functional strength this class is for you! The goal is to push your mind and body to the limit so you can pack on muscle and become stronger mentally and physically.

HIIT

HIIT is a group fitness class for people who are looking for a high intensity class to burn fat and increase fitness levels.

This will push your limits mentally and physically, leading to a huge fat burn. This 45 minute class will have you sweating and gasping for breath but once you are finished you will feel a sense of joy. Be prepared for the challenge!

YOGA

Yoga is much more than a form of movement. It’s a time to sweat, flow and improve on yourself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.The mind is connected to the body, the body is connected to the mind. These two go hand in hand with everything in life.

Yoga allows you to work on both of these with breath through movement and allowing yourself to feel more grounded, energetic and connected to yourself on all levels.

The classes go for 45 minutes and will be different each week.

GROUP FITNESS MEMBERS

Operating under the government restrictions is challenging however SMA is committed to providing the best possible service to all of our loyal members.

What does this mean for Group Fitness Members?:

  • You will be able to book and attend fitness classes from Monday the 18th of May onwards
    • PLEASE NOTE BOOKING IS MANDATORY as under the new restrictions we have legal hard limits on numbers. If you show up without booking you will unfortunately be turned away.
  • Group Fitness members will have priority for all group classes as this is a service you are paying for. To ensure this occurs you will be given the Friday and Saturday of the week preceding the week you intend to book for to complete your bookings. On Sunday morning of the weekend prior to the week you are booking for, the classes will be opened to regular members IF there are any remaining unfilled places.
  • EXAMPLE: Bookings for the week of the 18th to the 22nd will be open to group fitness members to book on the 15th and 16th. On the 17th any unbooked spaces will be opened to regular gym membership members.
  • We have made the decision to operate in this manner to recognise the support of ALL of our members during these tough times. Our group members are paying for the group class services which is why you are prioritised, however we have many regular members who are actively supporting us as well whom have no other training options under the stage 2 restrictions.

Group Fitness Member Booking Process:

    1. Download and install the “GymMaster Member Portal’ application if you have not already done so
      1. Apple link
      2. Android link
    2. If prompted select Strength and Motion Academy as your gym facility
  1. Your login credentials for the first time you login are as follows:
    1. Username: The email address you provided to SMA at signup
    2. Password: The mobile phone number you provided to SMA at signup
  2. Once you are logged in you may book your classes on the Friday and Saturday before, for the following week. IE for the first week book on the 15th and 16th for classes running the 18th to 22nd.

NON GROUP FITNESS MEMBERS

What does this mean for NON group fitness members:

  • We understand that for members on any of our NON group fitness memberships there is no option to train at the gym in your normal manner. Therefore we are opening any unfilled group class spaces to all membership types after the group class members have made their bookings for each week. YES this means that under a regular membership you CAN attend some of the group classes IF numbers allow
  • Booking for these classes is MANDATORY. Due to the legal restrictions placed on SMA by the level 2 covid 19 restrictions we have a maximum number of people able to attend any class. IF you do not book YOU will unfortunately be turned away.
  • Bookings for NON group fitness members to attend classes will be opened on the Sunday before the week commences. This is to allow group fitness members priority to these classes and to have their choice. Any remaining spaces will be offered to those paying regular memberships.
  • Please NOTE, this does mean that some classes may have no spaces available for regular members or very limited spaces available.

Non Group Fitness Member Booking Process:

I'M NOT AN SMA MEMBER BUT WOULD LIKE TO TRAIN?

If you are not currently an SMA member you are welcome to attend classes.

The only way to do so is to sign up to a no lock in membership at $33 per week. You can cancel anytime.

Hygiene Policy and Gym Entry Rules

  • DO NOT attend the gym if you are unwell or have been unwell in the last TWO weeks
  • ONLY attend the gym if you are booked for a class or a PT Session
  • BRING a full water bottle as during this time our water fountain and kitchen facilities will be unavailable for hygiene reasons
  • During this time, the FRONT door will be an entry only
  • During this time the REAR door will be an exit only
  • On ENTRY sanitise hands
  • On EXIT sanitise hands
  • During the session remain in your marked 4m2 space and ensure to remain 1.5ms away from any person you do not currently live with
  • On arrival to the gym WAIT out the FRONT of the building for the coach/staff member to allow you access and cross reference your booking
  • On finishing your session, disinfect your specific equipment used for that session using disinfectant provided.
  • Once the equipment has been disinfected PROMPTLY exit through the REAR door
  • Please bring your own resistance band, booty band and Yoga Mat if you have one

Is the gym open?

    1. The gym is only available for the following services:
      1. Personal Training
      2. Group training classes with a maximum of 19 class members

I am a paying member of SMA, how do I book a class?

  • If you’re a group training member, please refer to the section above for class member bookings.

My membership is currently on hold can I attend classes?

  • Our services are only available to active paying members. Please contact us to reactivate your membership if you wish to attend classes.

I’m a currently not a member of SMA but I would like to train, what can I do?

We welcome you to sign up so you can access our classes. Memberships are a no-lock in contract basis, and you can cancel anytime. Please contact us via hello@smacademy.com.au or Facebook messenger for the fastest response time

I would like to pay for a single class

Due to operating procedures, we are unable to cater for single sessions. You can however, sign up on a membership and cancel instantly if you do decide to change your mind. Please contact us via hello@smacademy.com.au or Facebook messenger for the fastest response time

How many people can attend a class at once?

We are limited to 20 people within the building, including the coach. Therefore classes are capped at 19 participants, with 1 coach running the class.

How much does a membership cost?

  • A membership for group training is $33 per week which includes unlimited classes, access to our online academy and online classes, and 24/7 access (once the gym reopens).
  • Please note that all new members are required to have a $60 mandatory 1-1 coaching session with one of our coaches (you will receive a custom training program and have your coach take you through it). Due to the current circumstances, you will not be required to do the session, nor pay for it, until the gym is back to 100% full operations.

I’m a member of another gym, but would like to train at SMA until my gym opens. What’s the best option for me?

The best option is to sign up for a group training membership at $33 per week (debited fortnightly). Once your gym reopens you can cancel your membership, with no questions asked (however we may try and entice you to stay with us)
